Dr Chet Trivedy qualified as a dentist in 1993 and after working in general dental practice and oral and maxillofacial surgery he completed he obtained his fellowship in dental surgery from the Royal College of Surgeons (FDS RCS Eng). He has a PhD in head and neck oncology from King’s College London. He completed his medical training and since then he has been working as a front line emergency physician and a lecturer in emergency medicine at Warwick Medical School. He has published widely with over 20 peer-reviewed publications and is a co-author of two-core textbooks on emergency medicine. He has over 15 years of experience in teaching doctors and dentists across the globe both at an undergraduate and postgraduate level. He is a member of the Royal College of emergency medicine. He is passionate about cricket and is the lead clinician at the Kia Oval cricket ground.

Laura is a Dental Decontamination Trainer with a special interest in DUWL and Biofilms. Laura has developed her knowledge and experience of Dental Decontamination with qualifications from Anglia Ruskin University and of working in the Dental Decontamination field for 10 years. Laura is a bit of a Biofilm nerd and loves delivering training to groups of dental professionals to support their development in practice.

Dr Makdissi, better known as Jimmy joined Queen Mary School of Medicine and Dentistry in 2004 as a Clinical Senior Lecturer and Honorary Consultant in Dental and Maxillofacial Radiology. He completed his specialist training at Guy’s Hospital and obtained his Diploma of Dental Radiology from the Royal College of Radiologists. Dr Makdissi directs the Dental and Maxillofacial Radiology programme of the undergraduate BDS curriculum. He served on the Education Committee of the International Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Radiology. In addition, he operated as the Dental Tutor for the London Deanery at Barts Health and the Faculty Tutor at the Royal College of surgeons. Dr Makdissi is currently the President of the British Dental Association. He is also the founder and the clinical director of the Cone Beam CT Centre.

John Makin qualified in Manchester in 1983 and has worked as a general dental practitioner in Lancashire and Devon. He was involved with Foundation Training for many years as both a Trainer and VT Adviser/Training Programme Director with the Manchester and Exeter DFT Schemes.
John has postgraduate diplomas in law and dental education and served on the GDC’s Fitness to Practise Committee before becoming a full time Dento-legal adviser with The Dental Defence Union where he has had significant involvement in the development and delivery of DDU’s undergraduate and postgraduate education programmes. John is now Head of the DDU.
